First teased via hushed whispers, newspaper ads and mysterious social posts, the AP x Swatch Royal Pop collaboration has dominated the minds of watch fanatics for the past week. When the product, which takes the form of a punchy little pocket watch and not the wrist-gear everyone expected, dropped, fans queued for hours to grab one.

But, how do you actually wear a watch that isn’t a watch at all? Well, not on your wrist, that's for sure, unless you're up for getting handy with a glue gun. “Inspired by Swatch’s cult POP watches from the 1980s and 1990s, the Royal Pop is effectively a transformable pocket watch that can be worn around the neck, clipped onto bags, displayed as a desk clock or carried traditionally,” says Esquire’s Luxury Director Johnny Davis. “Swatch is not officially offering a wrist strap system, although modders will almost certainly start creating their own versions within hours.”
