It’s always a nice thing when horology and sports come together. They do seem made for each other, after all, with time being one of the main denominators of a win versus a loss.

So Hublot’s latest Big Bang Tourbillon Novak Djokovic GOAT Edition, just released at the start of this year during LVMH Watch Week, made for a good tribute to the tennis player’s legendary career.

This collaboration comes right after Djokovic’s 101st professional tournament victory, having closed 2025 as world number one for a—get this—whopping eight times.

The theme encompassing this collection is particularly thoughtful, because even those not privy to the latest developments of tennis would at least be familiar with the different surfaces the sport is played on, and that’s what the blue (hard court), orange (clay), and green (grass) colours of the watch signify.

Add on the 101 available watches in total, and you start to see another tiny ode to Djokovic. Only here, each colour has the same amount of releases as Djokovic’s wins on each surface. That makes 72 blue, 21 orange, and eight green watches available for purchase. What happens if he wins more future tournaments, you ask? That’s where Hublot will add another watch according to the specific surface that Djokovic wins on. A thoughtful move, that one.

The watch itself is housed in a 44mm case that is 14.4mm thick, which in itself holds further tributes to the athlete. This is done through the case’s material, that consists of Djokovic’s polo shirts and tennis racquets, all mixed together with Hublot’s special composite. So if you buy this watch, you’re technically carrying bits of ephemera that Djokovic used on the tennis court, and it’s not unlike touching a stone inscription that dates back millennia. It’s trippy to think about it in this way, but you will be directly associated with Djokovic’s illustrious career by owning this timepiece.

Powering this watch is the MHUB6035 Automatic Tourbillon movement, which is held together by a lattice. No prizes for guessing what the back of the watch looks like (hint: it’s a tennis racquet and ball). Sure, you could look at a tennis racquet and take its engineering for granted, but I dare you to stare at the caseback and tell me that you don’t become increasingly mesmerised the longer you stare at it.

Operational-wise, this watch has a power reserve of up to 72 hours, which is plenty for this day and age, and a water resistance of 30 metres, which is slightly on the shallow side, but who brings a tennis-themed watch to the pool, anyway?

Even the white leather straps pay tribute to Djokovic, mirroring the grip tape on his tennis racquet. When Hublot dedicates a watch to somebody, it goes all the way, and this choice of design will appeal to both fans of the sport and Hublot. Well, you know what they say, find yourself someone that is as dedicated to you as Hublot was dedicated to Djokovic when building this watch, and you’ll be set.

Plus, there’s no denying the GOATs, anyway, both in tennis and watchmaking.
