TAG Heuer has always been synonymous with the world of motorsports, and few other silhouettes belong on the track more than the iconic TAG Heuer Monaco. During Watches And Wonders 2026, this roster of watches was expanded further through the Monaco Evergraph and Monaco Chronograph series.

We first start with the Evergraph, which brings with it many horological innovations. The main draw of this watch was the new compliant chronograph mechanism, which does away with rigid concepts like springs and levers. The word ‘lever’ itself conjures images of stiff parts, flipped one direction or the other. The compliant mechanism brings with it the flexible yet bi-stable components that bend like a playing card would if you push in the middle while holding on to the edges.

In summary, what this affords the wearer is a more immediate response to any activation of the chronograph pushers. Again, while we can agree that mechanical timekeeping need not see further advancements in this digital age, it is still cool what watchmakers can do, just because they want to push the envelope just that tiny bit further.

This TH80-00 movement, with such a power-hungry complication of a chronograph, still offers a 70-hour power reserve, which is already impressive on its own. Add on the fact that the watch operates at 36,000 vibrations per hour, and you have yourself a mighty fine showcase of engineering.

Who would wear this? Someone who wants a unique timepiece, for one, seeing how this piece belongs in the avant-garde horlogerie category. Someone who appreciates the hard work of bright minds who’ve worked on this project for some five years would also be a good candidate as a new owner. 

The dimensions of this watch measure at 40mm, but because it is a square case, do expect it to wear much larger than a round watch. You need a certain pizzazz to pull off this watch, especially one of this calibre (heh), but it’s a known design, and thus, it’s much easier to work into your daily schedule, regardless of what walk of life you come from.

Alongside the Evergraph is the traditional Chronograph, which keeps the TAG Heuer connection with motorsports alive. And now that it comes with its in-house Calibre TH20-11 movement, you have a watch that is more in tune with its DNA. This movement is a beast, too, as it offers 80 hours of power reserve. Clearly, the Monaco doesn’t mess around in this area.

It is slightly smaller at 39mm, and it still wears slightly larger due to its square construction, but it does come in three lovely colours and materials: titanium and blue dial; titanium and green dial; and rose gold and black dial. We highly prefer the green dial, but if there’s a trademark Monaco colour, it has to be the blue.
