Hackett has always dealt with a certain idea of the professional man. But for Spring/Summer 2026, that idea is set aside, along with GPS, road signs, and painted arrows. In its place is a campaign that unfolds somewhere far from home, away from Mayfair or Savile Row.
Titled The Journey of a Man, the campaign sees David Gandy return to the brand. Shot by Mariano Vivanco in the Al Qudra Desert, Gandy drives through the landscape in vintage Jaguars and Land Rovers, rewriting the terrain with faint tracks. Without any destination in sight, the story highlights only the journey.
The casting deserves credit. Few could carry this character as convincingly as David Gandy. He reflects a life shaped by experience and growth, bringing a sense of conviction to the story. His performance here feels earned, framing a man not by where he ends up, but by everything that shaped him along the way.
When it comes to the clothes, Hackett’s relationship with British menswear remains rooted in tradition. Tailoring is still at the core, but it eases up this season. The desert, with its openness and unpredictability, becomes a fitting backdrop. Linen shirts sit lighter on the body, blazers soften at the shoulder, and trousers fall effortlessly.
There is a sense of practicality as well, one that befits a journeyman. These are elements like field jackets, cargo pockets, and fabrics that travel well and crease less. Pieces from the No.14 Savile Row line run throughout, but without the rigid structure that usually comes with it.
Even the palette shows restraint. Navies and blues anchor the collection, while terracotta, dusty pink, and muted greens sit quietly alongside. These are colours that feel drawn from the surroundings rather than ones layered on top of it.
In the end, nothing here tries too hard to prove a point. And that is what makes it work. After the seemingly endless commute, the campaign ends with Gandy sitting in the same open stretch. The ending, or the lack of one, drives the idea home. In the end, it is not on the clothes worn for the main performance, but on the ones we live in before the casting calls.
